Backrest Release Unit

Removing

- Mount the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136) on the engine and transmission holder (VAS 6095).

- Remove the front seat. Refer to => [ Front Seat ] Front Seat

- Attach the seat to the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136).

- Remove the front seat belt latch. Refer to => [ Front Seat Belt Latches ] Front Seat Belt Latches

- Remove the trim on the tunnel side. Refer to => [ Tunnel Side Trim ] Tunnel Side Trim

- Remove the trim on the door sill side. Refer to => [ Door Sill Side Trim ] Door Sill Side Trim

- Remove the backrest. Refer to => [ Backrest ] Backrest

- Attach the backrest to the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136).

- Remove the lumbar support lever. Refer to => [ Lumbar Adjustment Lever ] Lumbar Adjustment Lever

- Remove the backrest folding table. Refer to => [ Backrest Folding Table ] Backrest Folding Table

- Remove cover and upholstery from front seat backrest. Refer to => [ Front Seat Backrest Cover and Upholstery ] Front Seat Backrest Cover and Upholstery

- Cut the right and left lever arms of the release unit - arrows - using, for example, a diagonal cutter.

- Remove the rest of the release unit - 1 - and - 2 - from the backrest frame.






Installation

- Install the release unit into the mounts in the backrest frame.
