Vehicle Electrical System Control Module (J519), Through 05.09
The vehicle electrical system control module is located under the instrument panel inside the footwell on the driver side.
In vehicles to 05.09, the relay carrier on the vehicle electrical system control module and the vehicle electrical system control module are a single component and can only be removed together. General Description
The Vehicle electrical system control module has the following tasks in the vehicle:
• Electric load management
• Exterior light control
• Turn signal control
• Wipers, rear window
• Heated rear window
• Interior light control
• Ambient lighting
• Terminal control
• Dimming, instrument illumination
• Fuel Pump (FP) supply
• Pre-energizing of generator
• Horn

• Adapting high beams as assisting driving light
• Footwell illumination intensity, adapting

• Adaptations listed above are dependent on vehicle equipment level and market version.
• "Expressway blinking","comfort blinking", or "tap blinking" means that turn signals are activated multiple times (1-5 times) when turn signal lever is tapped once (signal cycles).
DTC Recognition and Display
Vehicle Electrical System Control Module is equipped with On Board Diagnostics (OBD) which assists troubleshooting.
For troubleshooting, use Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in "Guided Fault Finding" mode.
