Catalytic Converter: Description and Operation






Exhaust Pipe with Catalytic Converter, Particulate Filter, and Reduction Catalytic Converter Overview

If the particulate filter or exhaust pressure sensor 1 (G450) is replaced, the exhaust pressure sensor 1 must be adapted using the vehicle diagnostic tester, guided functions; adapt exhaust pressure sensor 1.

2 Suspended Mount

Replace if damaged.

3 Reduction Catalytic Converter

4 Retaining Clamp

5 Gasket

Replace

6 AdBlue(R) Injector (N474)

Removing and installing, refer to => [ AdBlue(R) Injector ] AdBlue(R) Injector.

7 Bolt

5 Nm

For the exhaust pipe with catalytic converter.

15 Exhaust Pipe with Catalytic Converter

With a flex joint.

Do not bend the decoupling element more than 10° or it will be damaged.

Protect from shocks and impact stress.

Lubricate with hot bolt paste (G 052 112 A3). Refer to the parts catalog.

18 Particulate Filter

With catalytic converter.

With the exhaust pressure sensor 1 (G450) pressure line.

19 Suspended Mount

Replace if damaged

Tighten the threaded connections evenly.
