Fastener Tightening Specifications
• 1 Always replace
• 2 Bolt length = 20 mm
• 3 Install with new gasket
• 4 60° corresponds to a "1/6" turn
Baffle Plate Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification
- Tighten the bolts - 1 through 16 - in the sequence shown to 9 Nm.
Guide Frame Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification
- Replace all bolts - 1 through 20 -.
- Tighten the bolts for the guide frame as follows:
• Tighten the bolts - 1 through 10 - to 30 Nm.
• Tighten the bolts - 11 through 20 - to 20 Nm.
• Tighten the bolts - 1 through 10 - to 50 Nm.
• Tighten the bolts - 11 through 20 - to 30 Nm.
• Tighten the bolts - 1 through 10 - 90° (1/4 turn) using a wrench.
• Tighten the bolts - 11 through 20 - 90° (1/4 turn) using a wrench.
• Tighten cylinder block/guide frame sealing surface bolts, - highlighted in illustration but not numbered -, in a diagonal sequence to 9 Nm.
Left Timing Chain Cover Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification
- Tighten the bolts - 1 through 8 - in the sequence shown to 9 Nm.
Right Timing Chain Cover Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification
- Tighten the bolts - 1 through 8 - in the sequence shown to 9 Nm.
Lower Timing Chain Cover Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification
- Tighten bolts - 1 through 13 - and - arrows - as follows
• Insert bolts - arrows - with locking compound and tighten to 5 Nm.
• Tighten the bolts - 1 through 13 - in a diagonal sequence to 8 Nm.
• Tighten the bolts - arrows - to 8 Nm.
• Tighten the bolts - 2, 4, 8, 9 and 10 - to 22 Nm.
• Tighten the bolts - 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13 - an additional 90° (1/4 turn) in a diagonal sequence using a wrench.
• Tighten the bolts - arrows - an additional 90° (1/4 turn) using a wrench.
