High Pressure Pump Assembly Overview
The opened fuel system is shown in this assembly overview. Therefore:
CAUTION!
• Before opening high pressure components of the fuel injection system, pressure must be relieved to residual pressure. Refer to => [ Releasing Pressure on High Pressure Side ] Service and Repair.
• Then wrap a clean cloth around the connection and relieve the residual pressure by carefully loosening the connection.
• Illustration depicts left high pressure pump.
1 High pressure pump
• Bank 1 with fuel metering valve (N290).
• Bank 2 with fuel metering valve 2 (N402).
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ High Pressure Pump ] High Pressure Pump.
2 Bolt, 9 Nm
3 Seal
• Replace
4 Locking bolt, 10 Nm
5 High pressure line
• Before loosening, disconnect ground cable at battery with ignition switched off.
• Connectors should not show any signs of damage.
• Do not change bend shape.
• High pressure lines, installing. Refer to => [ Hand-tighten the union nuts for the high-pressure lines. ] Service and Repair.
6 Fuel supply line
• Before loosening, disconnect ground cable at battery with ignition switched off.
• Connectors should not show any signs of damage.
• Do not change bend shape.
• High pressure lines, installing. Refer to => [ Hand-tighten the union nuts for the high-pressure lines. ] Service and Repair.
7 O-ring
• Replace
