The charging no longer takes place in the telephone transceiver (R36) , it has been integrated into the cradle. Cradles from earlier vehicles no longer work.

The telephone system is only possible with a radio or radio/navigation system.

The cellular telephone preparation "UHV Premium Light" is also known as the "universal cellular telephone preparation Premium Light" with Bluetooth technology and an optional telephone baseplate inside the center armrest.

The "UHV Premium Light" is a fixed installation telephone without a wire connection; telephone data is stored via Bluetooth to the cellular telephone registered to the vehicle.

The "UHV Premium Light" requires the phone to have a Bluetooth interface and it must support the "Remote SIM Access Profile" (rSAP).

With rSAP, telephone entries, for example, can be accessed on the cell phone SIM card.
