Driver Window Regulator Switch

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Trim Removal Wedge (VAS 3409)

• When removing and installing components in a visible area (switches, covers, trim, etc.), mask off the areas at which a prying tool ( (VAS 3409) , screwdriver) will be positioned, using commercially available adhesive tape.

The following components are integrated in the upper part of the grip shell:

• Left Front Window Regulator Switch (E40)

• Driver Right Front Window Regulator Switch (E81)

• Driver Left Rear Window Regulator Switch (E53)

• Driver Right Rear Window Regulator Switch (E55)

• Central Window Regulator Switch In Driver Door (E189)

• Push Button Light (L76)

• Left Front Window Regulator Switch (E40) and Driver Right Front Window Regulator Switch (E81) as well as Driver's Left Rear Window Regulator Switch (E53) and Driver Right Rear Window Regulator Switch (E55) can only be replaced as pairs.

Removal

- Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers.

- Carefully pry upper section of grip shell - 1 - out of door trim using (VAS 3409) or a screwdriver.






- Disconnect connectors - arrows -.






- Disengage the corresponding retaining tabs - arrows - and remove switches - 1 -, - 2 - and - 3 -.






1. Driver Left Rear Window Regulator Switch (E53) and Driver Right Rear Window Regulator Switch (E55)

2. Left Front Window Regulator Switch (E40) and Driver Right Front Window Regulator Switch (E81)

3. Central Window Regulator Switch In Driver Door (E189)


Installation

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.
