Selector Lever and Selector Mechanism with Selector Lever Cable, from 03.09

Short Description






The selector mechanism and the selector lever cable cannot be separated from each other. Both are removed at the same time. It may be necessary to create some open space in the engine compartment. Many times it is necessary to remove the air filter housing.

Also, parts of the exhaust system and the heat shield must be removed.

In the vehicle interior, it may be necessary to remove the center console.

• Check the cable for ease of movement after installing it.

Removing

- Lift the vehicle.

- Remove the exhaust system.

- Remove the heat shield.

- Remove the air filter housing.

- Remove the lock washers - A and B -. The lock washers must later be replaced when adjusting the cable.






Loosen the adjustment bolt - arrow -.

- Remove the selector lever handle. Refer to => [ Selector Lever Handle ] Selector Lever Handle.

- Remove the center console. Refer to "Storage Compartments, Covers and Trim".

- Remove the 4 bolts






Tightening specification: 8 Nm.

- Remove the selector mechanism.






Installing

Install in reverse order of removal.

- Check the selector lever cable before attaching it to the selector shaft. Refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable, Checking ] Selector Lever Cable, Checking.

- Install the heat shield.

- Install the exhaust system components, as necessary.

- Adjust the selector lever cable after installing. Refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable, Adjusting ] Adjustments.
