Front Fender

Removing






- Remove front bumper cover. Refer to => [ Front Bumper Cover ] Front Bumper Cover.

- Remove the front bumper cover, GTI. Refer to => [ Front Bumper Cover ] Front Bumper Cover.

- Remove the front wheel housing liners. Refer to => [ Front Wheel Housing Liner ] Front Wheel Housing Liner.

- Remove the bumper cover bracket. Refer to => [ Side Guide Overview ] Side Guide Overview.

- Remove the foam piece between the fender and the longitudinal member. Refer to item 3 => [ (Item 3) Foam Piece ] Front Fender Overview.

- Remove the fillet plate insulation from the wheel housing. Refer to item 4 => [ (Item 4) Fillet Plate Insulation ] Front Fender Overview.

- Remove the bolts - 2 -.

- Remove the nut - 3 -.

- Remove the fender - 1 -.

Installation

• Install the fender - 1 - so that it is free of tension.






Installing the fender - 1 - is in reverse order of removal.

- Install the zinc spacer (AKL 381 035 50) between the fender and the sill panel.

- Insulation, foam pieces, screw tightening specifications - 2 - and nut tightening specifications - 3 -, refer to => [ Front Fender Overview ] Front Fender Overview.

- Pay close attention to the parallel alignment and the gap dimensions.

Install with the fender brace loosened - 4 -.
