Generator Overview


Follow the procedure in the Repair Information when disconnecting and connecting the battery. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.

• Check the generator.






1 Hex Bolt With Washer and Threaded Piece

• 2 Nm

• M4 x 20, M4 x 15

2 Generator Cap

3 Phillips Head Screws

• 2 Nm

• M4 x 20

4 Cap For Carbon Brushes

5 Voltage Regulator

• Removing and installing voltage regulator, refer to => [ Voltage Regulator, Bosch ] Voltage Regulator, Bosch or => [ Voltage Regulator, Valeo ] Voltage Regulator, Valeo.

6 Generator

• Generator, removing and installing, refer to => [ Generator ] Generator.

• Generator (GEN), checking, refer to => [ Generator, Checking ] Testing and Inspection.

• Securing B+ wire to generator, refer to => [ B+ Cable Mount on Generator ] Procedures.

• Generator ribbed belt pulley, removing and installing, refer to => [ Ribbed Belt Pulley Without Freewheel ] Ribbed Belt Pulley Without Freewheel, => [ Ribbed Belt Pulley with Freewheel, Bosch ] Ribbed Belt Pulley With Freewheel, Bosch or => [ Ribbed Belt Pulley with Freewheel, Valeo ] Ribbed Belt Pulley With Freewheel, Valeo.

7 Ribbed Belt

• Ribbed belt, checking, refer to => [ Ribbed Belt, Checking ] Testing and Inspection.

8 Collar Bolts

• 20 Nm

• M8 x 90

No Illustration

• M5 wire clamp nut to the rear side of the generator - 3.2 Nm

• M8 A/C compressor mounting bolts to the accessories bracket - 23 Nm
