2 Seal

• Always replace.

• Installing, refer to => [ Installing the Seal between the Exhaust Door Control Unit and Exhaust Pipe with Catalyst and Particulate Filter or the NOx Reduction Catalytic Converter ].

3 Securing Clamp

• 7 Nm

• Always replace.

• Note the installed position, refer to => [ Installed Position of the Clamp between the Exhaust Door Control Unit and NOx Reduction Catalytic Converter or Exhaust Pipe with Catalyst and Particulate Filter ].

4 Exhaust Door Control Unit (J883)

• Pay attention to the installed position.

• Heat shielding and connector wire routing, refer to => [ Exhaust System Component Wire Routing ] Description and Operation.

5 NOx Reduction Catalytic Converter

• Checking the exhaust system for leaks. Refer to => [ Exhaust System, Checking for Leaks ] Testing and Inspection.

6 Front Muffler

7 Clamping Sleeve

• Tighten the threaded connections evenly. Tightening specification and installed position. Refer to => [ Clamping Sleeve Locations ] Procedures.

• Align the exhaust system free of stress. Refer to => [ Exhaust System, Aligning ] Exhaust System, Aligning.

8 Threaded Connection

• Tighten the threaded connections evenly. Tightening specification and installed position. Refer to => [ Clamping Sleeve Locations ] Procedures.

Installing the Seal between the Exhaust Door Control Unit and Exhaust Pipe with Catalyst and Particulate Filter or the NOx Reduction Catalytic Converter





- Insert the seal - 2 - with the angled tab - B - in the notch - A - on the NOx reduction catalytic converter or exhaust pipe with catalyst and particulate filter - 1 -.

- Insert the exhaust door control unit - 3 - with the retaining tab - C - in the notch - A -.

Installed Position of the Clamp between the Exhaust Door Control Unit and NOx Reduction Catalytic Converter or Exhaust Pipe with Catalyst and Particulate Filter





- Install the new clamp so the bolt is opposite the exhaust door control unit housing and the - 45 +/- 10° - angle is maintained.
