Wheel Bearing and Wheel Hub
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Torque wrench (V.A.G 1332)
• Torque wrench (V.A.G 1410)
Removing
- Remove coil spring. Refer to => [ Coil Spring ] Coil Spring.
- Remove the drive axle. Refer to => [ Drive Axle ] Drive Axle.
- Remove brake carrier and brake caliper and tie to body with wire.
• Do not allow brake caliper to hang from brake line.
- Remove the brake disc bolt and the brake rotor.
- Remove bolts - 2 -.
- Remove wheel hub/wheel bearing unit from wheel bearing housing.
Installing
Installation is the reverse of removal, with special attention to the following:
- Tighten the new bolt. Refer to => [ Drive Axle Twelve-Point Bolt with Ribs, Loosening and Tightening ] Drive Axle Twelve-Point Bolt With Ribs, Loosening and Tightening.
