Steering Column Assembly Overview, Vehicles with Knee Airbags

• Welding and straightening work on supporting or wheel carrying components of suspension is not permitted.

• Always replace self-locking nuts.

• Always replace corroded bolts/nuts.






1 Assembly Carrier with Bracket

2 Steering Column

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Steering Column, Vehicles with Knee Airbags ] Steering Column, Vehicles With Knee Airbags.

3 Bolt

• 20 Nm

• Observe tightening sequence. Refer to => [ Secure the steering column with the bolts, on after the other , , and. ] Steering Column, Vehicles With Knee Airbags.

4 Bolt

• 9 Nm

5 Knee Airbag Mount

• The impact bolsters for the clutch and brake pedals are welded to the knee airbag mount.

6 Bolt

• 9 Nm

7 Bolt

• 20 Nm

8 Bolt

• 30 Nm

• Always replace if removed.
