Door Outer Window Recess Seal, Front or Rear Door, Improper Fit





Outer window recess seal may contact front or rear door B or C pillar (Figure 1).

Technical Background

Insufficient fit of the window recess seal.

Production Solution

Install felt tape.

Service

Apply a 50 mm (2 in.) piece textile tape part number D422S25A2 in the areas of B pillar/front door and B and C pillar/rear door to ensure a better fit of the outer window seal.

Procedure

1. Carefully remove the window recess seal, see Repair Group 57 or 58 in ElsaWeb.

Note:
The core of the window seal cover consists of a metal element. If the element is bent, the cover cannot be straightened. Damaged window recess seals must be replaced.

2. Clean the flange.








3. Apply textile tape where indicated on the flange, starting directly on the flange edge (position see figures 2 and 3).
