Rear Door Window Guide Seal Detaches from Door
The window guide seal of the rear door detaches (illustration 1).
Because of an incorrect position or thickness of the fine seam sealing the lips of the window guide/seal do not fit optimally and can easily slip (illustration 2).
No production change required.
Service
Procedure:
Apply trim adhesive to window guide seal to prevent the seal from slipping.
^ If the window guide seal has pulled free or does not fit properly, clean contact area with 3M(TM) 08987 trim adhesive cleaner, or equivalent, to ensure repair area is free of dirt and oil.
^ Begin applying 3M(TM) 08011 Weatherstrip Adhesive -black- to clean window guide seal, 3cm (1.2 in.) below the door flange border (illustration 3, item 2, reference only).
^ Apply 3MTM trim adhesive over 50cm (20 in.) (illustration 3, item 1, reference only) and reattach seal.
^ Remove any excessive adhesive to ensure cleanliness and allow adhesive in repair area to cure, per adhesive manufactures instruction.
