Rear Lid






Rear Lid

Removing






- Remove the rear lid trim panel..

- Disconnect harness connectors of installed electrical components.

- Loosen but do not remove the bolts - 3 - at the left and right hinges.

A second technician is required for the rest of the removal procedure.

- Remove the gas-filled strut - 2 -, refer to => [ Rear Lid Gas Strut ] Rear Lid Gas Strut.

- Remove the bolts - 3 - and the rear lid - 1 -.

The central connectors - 4 - are on the left and right sides of the C-pillar.

Installation

If a new rear lid is installed then new adhesive tape must also be reapplied.

If no adhesive tape is applied, rainwater from the rear lid will drip into the luggage compartment.

- Apply the left and right adhesive tape (1K6.827.972) in the indicated positions.

3 Rear Window






Install the rear lid - 1 - in reverse order of removal.

- Tightening specifications for bolts - 3 -: 10 Nm.

- Adjust the rear lid - 1 -. Refer to => [ Rear Lid Adjusting ] Adjustments.

Before the rear lid - 1 - is closed, perform a function test on the unlocking components.
