Front Bucket Seat Backrest

• The following describe removing and installing components on the left seat. Removing and installing components on the right seat is identical.

Removing

- Mount the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136) on the engine and transmission holder (VAS 6095).

- Remove the front seat. Refer to => [ Front Seat ] Front Seat.

- Attach the seat to the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136).

- Remove front left bucket seat trim. Refer to => [ Left Bucket Seat Trim ] Left Bucket Seat Trim

- Remove the front seat belt latch:

• 2-door: => [ Belt Latch, 2-door ] Belt Latch, 2-Door

• 4-door: => [ Belt Latch, 4-door ] Belt Latch, 4-Door

- Remove front right bucket seat trim. Refer to => [ Right Bucket Seat Trim ] Right Bucket Seat Trim

- Remove front bucket seat backrest. Refer to => [ Front bucket seat backrest, removing and installing ] Front bucket seat backrest, removing and installing

• From VIN 2615638 (June 2006), the backrest cover is secured to the backrest with additional clips (N.107.297.01).

• Remove clips carefully from surrounding channel with a suitable tool.

• When installing the clips, be sure to install them in their original positions.






- Press left trim - 1 - on upper edge downward.

- Then remove trim from mounts in area of the two catches - arrows -.

- Remove right trim - 2 - in the same way.

- Remove surrounding profile - 3 - in side area of backrest from surrounding channel - 4 -.

- In lower area of backrest, remove profile - 5 - from mount.






- Loosen all Velcro strips - 1 - on cover from depression in upholstery - 2 -.

- Remove upholstery from backrest frame.






Installing

- Install in reverse order of removal.
