Removing

When removing, mark the brake pads in case they will be reused. Install them in the same position, otherwise the braking effect will be uneven!

- Remove the front wheels.

- Using a screwdriver - 2 -, pry the spring - 1 - out of the brake caliper in the - direction of arrow B -. Insert the screwdriver between the spring and the brake caliper - arrow A -.






- Cover the brake caliper spring - 1 - with a cloth when doing this, so that it cannot jump away.

- Disconnect the connector - 1 - for the brake pad wear display.






- Remove the caps - arrows -.






- Loosen both guide pins - arrows - and remove them from the brake caliper housing.






- Remove the brake caliper - 1 - from the brake carrier - 2 - and secure it to the body with wire in such a way so that the weight of the brake caliper cannot overload or damage the brake hose.






- Remove the outer brake pad - 3 - from the brake carrier - 2 -.

- Remove the inner brake pad - 4 - from the brake caliper - 1 -.

Cleaning


Do not use compressed air on the brake system, the dust produced is harmful to health!

- Thoroughly clean the contact surfaces for the brake pads on the brake carrier and remove any corrosion.

- Clean the brake caliper.

Use only appropriate solvents for cleaning brake caliper.

Installing

Before pressing the piston into the cylinder using the piston resetting tool, brake fluid must be extracted from the brake fluid reservoir. Otherwise, especially if the reservoir has been topped off, fluid will overflow and cause damage.

- Press the piston back.






- Set the inner brake pad with the springs - 4 - into the brake caliper (piston).






- Install the outer brake pad - 3 - in the brake carrier - 2 -.

- Mount the brake caliper - 1 - on the brake carrier - 2 -.

- Tighten the brake caliper to brake carrier using both guide pins.






- Install the caps.

- Install the brake caliper spring - 1 - in such a way that the lower spring bracket is behind the brake carrier - arrow A - and the middle centering pin - arrow B - is behind the brake caliper housing - 3 -.






- Move the upper spring bracket behind the brake carrier - 2 - - arrow C -.

- Connect brake pad wear indicator connector.

- Install the wheels.

After replacing the brake pads, press the brake pedal firmly several times with the vehicle stationary so that the brake pads are properly seated in their normal operating position.

Check the brake fluid level after replacing the brake pads.
