Side Panel LED Tail Lamps Assembly Overview
• The tail lamps inside the side panel, in addition to the yellow bulb for the turn signal - 3 -, have an LED module which functions as a brake lamp and a Tail lamp.
1 Bolt
• Install by hand all the way in.
• Tightening specification: maximum 2.5 Nm
2 Turn signal bulb holder
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Turn Signal Bulb, Removing and Installing ]
3 Left Rear Turn Signal Lamp (M6) and Right Rear Turn Signal Lamp (M8)
• bulb 12V, WY21W
• Removing and Installing, refer to => [ Turn Signal Bulb, Removing and Installing ]
4 Tail lamps in side panel

Side Panel LED Tail Lamps, Removing and Installing
• Removing and installing the left tail lamp assembly is shown in the illustration. Removing and installing the right tail lamp assembly is identical.
Removing:
- Turn off the ignition and all electric consumers and remove the key.
- Open the side trim panel - 1 - in - direction of arrow -.
- Disconnect the connector - 1 -.
- Remove the screw - 2 - and remove the tail lamp assembly inside the side panel through the opening in the body.
Installing:
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
• When inserting the tail lamp assembly into the opening in the body, be sure to slide it into the upper - 1 - and lower - 2 - guides correctly.
- Install the tail lamp assembly screws by hand (2.5 Nm maximum) and connect the connector.
- Connect the connector to the tail lamp until it latches.
- Check the gap dimensions in the body and make sure the tail lamps work correctly.
Turn Signal Bulb, Removing and Installing
• Removing and installing the left rear turn signal bulb (M6) is shown in the illustration. Removing and installing the right rear turn signal bulb (M8) is identical.
Removing:
- Remove tail lamp assembly in side panel => [ Side Panel LED Tail Lamps, Removing and Installing ].
- Turn the left rear turn signal bulb (M6) bulb holder - 1 - in - direction of arrow - and the remove it from the tail lamp assembly.
- Carefully remove the left rear turn signal bulb (M6) - 2 - from the bulb holder - 1 -.
Installing:
Install in reverse order.
Side Panel LED Tail Lamps, Checking
The side panel tail lamps can be checked using the output diagnostic test in the vehicle electrical system control module (J519).
