Interior - Rear Arm Rest Won't Fold Down

Condition

Rear Arm Rest Inoperative

Rear arm rest will not fold down or binds in the up, or near up position.

Note:

DO NOT replace armrest for this condition. Arm rests replaced for this condition will be debited.

Technical Background





Security anchors on either side of the arm rest may not properly release.

Follow the procedure below or review the attachment to release properly.

Note:

Releasing the arm rest is a one time customer courtesy repair.

Production Solution

No production change required.

Service





^ Carefully grip the armrest and apply slight downward pressure while rocking arm rest side to side to release security anchors.





^ Once arm rest is released, remove bottom side covers by releasing security tabs.





Bottom side covers removed.





^ Assure security anchors were properly released on both sides.

^ Verify that arm rest now operates properly.

Install arm rest bottom side covers.
