8 Transmission Oil Cooler

• Only on vehicles with the Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG(R)).

9 Engine Oil Cooler Coolant Supply Hose

• On vehicles without a transmission fluid cooler.

• From the connection on the cylinder block.

Transmission Oil Cooler Coolant Return Line

• On vehicles with a transmission oil cooler.

10 Engine Oil Cooler Coolant Return Hose

11 to the Radiator Upper Connection

12 Bracket for Wiring Harness and Coolant Pipe

• Secured to the bracket - item 16 - in the => [ Oil Filter Bracket and Oil Cooler Overview ] Oil Filter Bracket and Oil Cooler Overview, on the oil filter bracket.

13 Coolant Hose

• To the coolant pipe on the cylinder block.

14 Coolant Hoses

• For the transmission oil cooler.

• Only on vehicles with the DSG(R).

15 Coolant Line

• For the engine pre-heater.

• Engine pre-heater overview. Refer to => [ Engine Pre-Heater Overview ] Engine Pre-Heater Overview.

• Connection to the engine pre-heater and the engine oil cooler return hose - item 10 -.

• Secured in the upper area on the bracket - item 16 - in the => [ Oil Filter Bracket and Oil Cooler Overview ] Oil Filter Bracket and Oil Cooler Overview for the wiring harness and coolant pipe.

• Secured in the lower area on the charge air pipe - item 15 - in the => [ Charge Air Cooler Component Overview ] Service and Repair with the engine pre-heater bracket.

16 Engine Pre-Heater

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Engine Pre-Heater ] Engine Pre-Heater.

17 Engine Oil Cooler

18 Coolant Thermostat

• Checking: warm the thermostat in water.

• Opens at: approximately 87 °C (188.6 °F).

• Stops at: approximately 102 °C (215.6 °F).

• Opening travel: minimum 7 mm.

• Thermostat removing and installing. Refer to => [ Coolant Thermostat ] Coolant Thermostat.

• 4/2 way valve with thermostat removing and installing, refer to => [ 4/2 Way Valve with Thermostat ] 4/2 Way Valve with Thermostat.
