Clutch Actuation System Overviews
• Obtain the antitheft code for the radio before disconnecting the battery.
• Turn off the ignition and disconnect the battery ground cable.
• When connecting the battery.
• Lubricate the various bearing and contact surfaces with grease (G 000 450 02).

Clutch Pedal Overview
1 Bulkhead
• With a mount for the bracket.
2 Gasket
• Always replace.
• Between the bracket and the bulkhead.
• Equipped with a self-adhesive.
• Attached to the bracket.
3 Bracket
• For clutch pedal mounting.
• Some equipment versions have a sound absorber, refer to => [ Bracket with Sound Absorber ].
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Mounting Bracket ] Mounting Bracket.
4 Bolt
5 Over-Center Spring
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Over-Center Spring ] Over-Center Spring.
6 Bushing
7 Pin
8 Clutch Pedal
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Clutch Pedal ] Clutch Pedal.
9 Mount
• To remove and install, disconnect the master cylinder from the clutch pedal. Refer to => [ Clutch Pedal ] Clutch Pedal.
10 Gasket
• Always replace.
• Between the master cylinder and the bracket.
11 Master Cylinder
• Remove and install after removing the bracket. Refer to => [ Master Cylinder ] Service and Repair.
12 Clutch Position Sensor (G476)
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ ] Service and Repair.
• Can be checked in "Guided Fault Finding" using the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051.
• The clutch position sensor is called the clutch pedal switch (F36) in "Guided Fault Finding".
13 Circlip
• The circlip must be removed in order to remove/install the hose/line assembly.
14 Supply Hose
• Rubber
• Made of plastic as of 12.05. Refer to => [ Plastic Supply Hose ].
15 Self-Locking Nut
• 25 Nm
• Quantity: 3
• For the bracket to the bulkhead.
• Always replace
16 Nut
• 25 Nm
• Always replace.
17 Jounce Bumper
• For the clutch pedal.

Hydraulics System Overview
1 Brake Fluid Reservoir
2 Spring Clamp
• Not on all vehicles.
3 Supply Hose
• Rubber
• As of 12.05, made of plastic. Refer to => [ Plastic Supply Hose ].
4 Master Cylinder
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Master Cylinder ] Service and Repair.
5 Circlip
• To remove and install the hose/line assembly or the plastic line, pull the circlip all the way out.
• On some master cylinders, it is pulled out on the side.
6 Seal/O-ring
• Installed on the line connection.
• Install using brake fluid.
• Seal/O-ring suitable for the line connection. Refer to => [ Seals/O-ring for the Hose/Line Assembly
(or Plastic Line) ].
7 Mount
• To remove and install, disconnect the master cylinder from the clutch pedal. Refer to => [ Clutch Pedal ] Clutch Pedal.
8 Clutch Pedal
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Clutch Pedal ] Clutch Pedal.
9 Self-Locking Nut
• 25 Nm
• Quantity: 3
• For the bracket to the bulkhead.
• Always replace.
10 Hose/Line Assembly
• To remove, the battery and battery tray need to be removed.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Clutch Hose/Line Assembly or Plastic Line ] Service and Repair.
11 Bracket
• For the hose/line assembly => [ (Item 10) Hose/Line Assembly ].
• Attached to the body.
• Covered by the assembly mounting.
• Bracket differentiation, refer to => [ Bracket Differentiation ].
12 Plastic Line
• To remove, the battery and battery tray need to be removed.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Clutch Hose/Line Assembly or Plastic Line ] Service and Repair.
13 Bracket
• For the plastic line => [ (Item 12) Plastic Line ].
• Attached to the body.
• Covered by the assembly mounting.
• Bracket differentiation, refer to => [ Bracket Differentiation ].
14 Seal/O-ring
• Installed on the line connection.
• Install using brake fluid.
• Seals/O-ring for the line connection, refer to => [ Seals/O-ring for the Hose/Line Assembly
(or Plastic Line) ].
15 Breather
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Breather Assembly ] Removal and Replacement.
16 Circlip
• To remove and install the hose/line assembly or plastic line and the breather, pull the circlip all the way out.
17 Vent Valve
• Clutch system, bleeding. Refer to => [ Clutch System, Bleeding ] 02Q Transmission.
18 Cap
19 Clutch Slave Cylinder
• The gasket can only be replaced when the transmission is removed.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Slave Cylinder with Release Bearing ] Slave Cylinder with Release Bearing.
20 Transmission
Seals/O-ring for the Hose/Line Assembly (or Plastic Line)
Plastic Supply Hose
• The seals - 2 - must be inside the supply hose - 1 -.
