Power Lumbar Support

Removal and installation of lumbar support is described for left backrest frame. The same removal and installation instructions for lumbar support apply for right backrest frame.


Read the Safety Instructions for working with airbags, belt tensioners and battery cut-out units. Refer to => [ Airbag, Belt Tensioner and Battery Cut-Out Units General Safety Precautions ] Airbag, Belt Tensioner and Battery Cut-Out Units General Safety Precautions.

- Mount the (VAS 6136) on the (VAS 6095).

- Remove front seat. Refer to => [ Front Seat ] Front Seat.

- Attach the seat to the (VAS 6136).

- Remove right trim on seat. Refer to => [ Right Seat Trim ] Right Seat Trim.

- Remove left power seat trim. Refer to => [ Power Seat Trim, Left ] Power Seat Trim, Left.

- Remove front seat backrest. Refer to => [ Left Front Seat Backrest ] Left Front Seat Backrest.

- Secure backrest on (VAS 6136).

- Remove the cover and upholstery from the front seat backrest. Refer to => [ Front Seat Backrest Cover and Upholstery ] Front Seat Backrest Cover and Upholstery.

- Remove the front side airbag. Refer to => [ Driver and Passenger Side Airbag ] Driver and Passenger Side Airbag

- Disconnect wiring harness from drive motors - 1 - and - 2 -.

- Drill out rivet - 3 - in lower area on rear side.

- Drill out two rivets - 4 - on left side.

- Drill out two rivets - 5 - on right side.

- Disengage lumbar support from mounts in backrest frame - arrows -.

- Remove components of lumbar support from backrest frame.





Installation

- To install, perform the steps used for removal in reverse order.

To install rivets - 3 -, - 4 - and - 5 -, use (VAS 5072).
