Subframe, Transverse Links and Tie Rod Assembly Overview






1 Eccentric Bolt

For camber setting.

After loosening, perform vehicle alignment. Refer to => [ Wheel Alignment ] Wheel Alignment.

2 Nut, 95 Nm

M12 x 1.5

Self-locking

Always replace after removal.

Always tighten threaded connections in curb weight position. Refer to => [ Wheel Suspension, Lifting into Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension.

3 Eccentric Washer

Inner bore with tab.

4 Eccentric Bolt

For toe setting.

After loosening, perform vehicle alignment. Refer to => [ Wheel Alignment ] Wheel Alignment.

5 Nut, 95 Nm

Adjust Torque wrench (V.A.G 1332) to 80 Nm when tightening nut.

This torque specification applies only in conjunction with Insert tool (T10179).

M12 x 1.5

Self-locking

Always replace after removal.

Always tighten threaded connections in curb weight position. Refer to => [ Wheel Suspension, Lifting into Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension.

6 Eccentric Washer

Inner bore with tab.

7 Subframe

8 Bolt, 90 Nm + 90°

M12 x 1.5 x 90

Always replace after removal.

9 Lower Transverse Link

Removal and installation, refer to => [ Lower Transverse Link ] Lower Transverse Link.

10 Bolt

Always replace after removal.

11 Nut, 90 Nm + 90°

M12 x 1.5 x 75

Self-locking

Always replace after removal.

Always tighten threaded connections in curb weight position. Refer to => [ Wheel Suspension, Lifting into Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension.

12 Bolt

Always replace after removal.

Always tighten threaded connections in curb weight position. Refer to => [ Wheel Suspension, Lifting into Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension.

13 Upper Transverse Link

Removal and installation, refer to => [ Upper Transverse Link ] Upper Transverse Link.

14 Nut, 130 Nm + 90°

M14 x 1.5

Self-locking

Always replace after removal.

Always tighten threaded connections in curb weight position. Refer to => [ Wheel Suspension, Lifting into Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension.

15 Washer

16 Nut, 130 Nm + 90°

M14 x 1.5

Self-locking

Always replace after removal.

Always tighten threaded connections in curb weight position. Refer to => [ Wheel Suspension, Lifting into Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension.

17 Wheel Bearing Housing

Removal and installation, refer to => [ Wheel Bearing Housing ] Wheel Bearing Housing.

18 Washer

19 Bolt

Always replace after removal.

Always tighten threaded connections in curb weight position. Refer to => [ Wheel Suspension, Lifting into Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension.

20 Tie Rod

Various versions

Closed in direction of travel (the right and left tie rods are different).

Opened downward (the right and left tie rods are the same).

It is possible to interchange.

Removal and installation, refer to => [ Tie Rod ] Tie Rod.

21 Bolt

Always replace after removal.

22 Nut, 90 Nm + 90°

M12 x 1.5

Self-locking

Always replace after removal.
