The knee airbag is installed above the pedal cluster.

Removing


Always read the General Safety Precautions before working on airbags, belt tensioners and battery cut-out units (pyrotechnical components). - Disconnect the battery.


Electrostatic discharges can lead to unintended deployment of the airbag. Therefore the technician must discharge static electricity from the body before separating the ignition and ground wiring. This is done, for example, by briefly touching the body or the door striker or pin.

- Disconnect the connector from the knee airbag.

The connector is at the front on the tunnel side facing the drive direction.

- Remove the two nuts - 1 - and - 3 - (9 Nm).

- Remove the knee airbag - 2 - from the bracket - 4 -.






Installing

- Install in reverse order of removal.


Make sure the airbag connector audibly locks.

- Switch on ignition.


Make sure no one is in the vehicle.

- Connect the battery.
