Rear Side Airbag

• The following describes removing and installing on the right side of the vehicle. Removal and installation for the left-hand side is performed in the same manner.

Removing


Always read the General Safety Precautions before working on airbags, belt tensioners and battery cut-out units (pyrotechnical components). Refer to => [ Airbag, Belt Tensioner and Battery Cut-Out Units, General Safety Precautions ] Airbag, Belt Tensioner and Battery Cut-Out Units, General Safety Precautions.

- Disconnect the battery.

- Remove the side cushion with side airbag - 1 -. Refer to => [ Side Upholstery with Side Airbag ] Side Upholstery with Side Airbag.

- Remove the two bolts - 2 - (9 Nm).

• Bolts are micro-encapsulated and must be replaced after each loosening.

• Before installing the new screws, the threads of the corresponding nuts must be cleaned.

- Detach the rear side airbag connector coupling - 3 - from the mount in the side cushion - 1 -.

- Remove the rear side airbag - 3 - from the side cushion.






Installing

- Install in reverse order of removal.

- Switch on ignition.


Make sure no one is in the vehicle.

- Connect vehicle battery.
