Ribbed Belt Pulley With Freewheel
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Torque Wrench (VAG 1332)
• Multi-point adapter (3400)
Removing
- Remove the Generator (C) first. Refer to=> [ Generator ] Generator.
- Clamp the Generator (C) in a vise.
- Remove the cap from the free-wheeling belt pulley.
• The threads on the generator shaft are a left-handed thread, therefore, rotate it clockwise to loosen and counter-clockwise to tighten.
- Insert the (VAS 3400) into the pulley with ribbed belt pulley with free-running hub for the Generator (C) using and open-end wrench.
- Loosen the threaded connection by rotating clockwise, while counter holding with the box-end wrench.
- Hold the free-wheeling ribbed belt pulley in place by hand and turn it at the Generator (C) input shaft until the pulley can be removed.
Installing
- Install the ribbed belt pulley with freewheel all the way onto the Generator (C) input shaft by hand.
Torque wrench must be rearranged for installing ribbed belt pulley with freewheel as follows:
- Release the insert - 1 - and pull it from the handle - 2 -.
- Rotate the handle - 2 - of the torque wrench 180 degrees and re-insert the bit.
- Set the rotation direction of the torque wrench bit to "left."
- Install the inner hex socket into the Generator ( C) input shaft.
- Counterhold the (3400) with the open-end wrench and tighten the free-wheeling belt pulley by turning the Generator (C) input shaft with the torque wrench to the left. The tightening specification is 80 Nm.
- Install the cap on the free-wheeling belt pulley.
Further installation is in the reverse sequence to removal.
