Engine Number

Engine Number

Engine code - arrow A - and engine number - arrow B - (serial number) are located on the rear side of the engine, above the partition of the cylinder block/upper oil pan.

The engine number consists of up to nine characters (alphanumeric). The first part (maximum 3 letters) represents the engine code, the second (six digit) is the serial number. If more than 999,999 engines with the same engine code are produced, the first of the six characters is replaced with a letter.

In addition, a sticker with the engine code and engine number is applied on the cylinder head cover.

The engine code letters are also located on the vehicle data plate. The data plate is located as well, in the customer service plan as well as on vehicle in the rear spare tire wheel well or on the luggage compartment floor.
