Cooling System Overview, Body Side
• Coolant hose connection diagram. Refer to => [ Coolant Hose Connection Diagram ] [1][2]Cooling System.
1 Upper Coolant Hose
• To the water connection on the cylinder head.
2 O-ring
• Replace if damaged.
3 Radiator
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Radiator ] Service and Repair.
• After replacing, replace the entire amount of coolant.
4 Gasket
5 Cover
• Check using the cooling system tester (V.A.G 1274) and adapter (V.A.G 1274/9).
• The pressure release valve must open at a pressure of 1.4 to 1.6 bar.
6 Connector
7 Bolt
• 5 Nm
8 Expansion Tank
• Perform a leak test on the cooling system using the cooling system tester (V.A.G 1274) and adapter (V.A.G 1274/8).
9 Bracket
• For the radiator.
10 Bolt
• 5 Nm
11 Mount
12 Nut
• 10 Nm
13 Fan Shroud
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Fan Shroud and Fans ] Service and Repair.
14 Bolt
• 5 Nm
15 Coolant Fan 2 (V177)
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Fan Shroud and Fans ] Service and Repair.
16 Connector
17 Coolant Fan (V7)
• With the coolant fan control module.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Fan Shroud and Fans ] Service and Repair.
18 Lower Coolant Hose
• To the connection for the coolant thermostat.
19 Clip
20 Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor on Radiator Outlet (G83)
21 O-ring
• Always replace.
