Low Beam Headlamp Bulb: 357






Low Beam Headlamp Bulb

Left Low Beam Headlamp (M29) and Right Low Beam Headlamp (M31) can be checked via output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) of Vehicle Electrical System Control Module (J519).

Removing

- Switch off the ignition and all electrical consumers and move the ignition key or start button into the 0 position (preliminary engaged position).

During removal and installation, leave ignition key with remote control inside the vehicle to prevent the doors from locking and possibly activating the "Coming Home / Leaving Home" functions on its own.

The following illustrations show the procedure for removing and installing the right low beam headlamp (M31) on the right headlamp.

The procedure for removing and installing the left low beam headlamp (M29) is the same.

- Open the cover cap - 1 - by rotating it to the left and remove it.






- Rotate the lamp socket with the headlamp bulb - 1 - in the - direction of the arrow - and remove it from the headlamp while being careful of the connected wires.






- Remove the low beam headlamp bulb - 2 - from the bulb socket - 1 - in - direction of arrow -.






Low beam headlamp bulb: H7U 12 V, 55 W

Installing

When installing cap, ensure proper seating. It is destroyed by ingress of water into headlamp.

Do not touch the glass of the light bulb, when installing. Fingerprints will leave traces of grease on the glass which will evaporate and cloud the glass when the lamp is switched on.

- Insert low beam headlamp bulb into lamp socket so that peg - 1 - of low beam headlamp bulb lies on the guide - 2 - of lamp socket.






- Insert the lamp socket with the low beam headlamp bulb - 1 - into the headlamp and rotate the socket in the - direction of the arrow -.






- Reinstall cover cap.

- Check headlamp for function.

- Check headlamp adjustment and adjust headlamp if necessary.
