Fuel Tank, Engine Codes CBFA, CCTA and CCTB, Assembly Overview





1 Fuel line

• Ensure seated tightly

2 Cap

• replace if damaged

3 Bolt

4 Fuel Filler Door Unit

• With rubber gasket

• Removing and installing => Body Exterior 55 Tank flap unit; removing and installing tank flap unit

5 Vent line

• Clipped in at fuel tank

• Ensure seated tightly

6 Vacuum line

• Clipped in at fuel tank

• Ensure seated tightly

7 Ground connection

• To protective plate for fuel filler tube

• Ensure seated tightly

8 Ground connection

• Ensure seated tightly

• Check for good contact to body

9 Clamp

10 Fuel Tank

• Support using Engine/Transmission Jack (V.A.G 1383 A) when removing

14 25 Nm

• Replace

• To mount the fuel tank tension straps, only screws with loose washers may be used. If other bolts are used, the tensioning straps could twist when the bolts are tightened.

15 Seal

• Replace

• to install, place into opening of fuel tank dry

• Moisten with fuel only when installing flange

16 Fuel delivery unit

• Removing and installing => [ Fuel Delivery Unit, Removing and Installing ] Fuel Delivery Unit, Removing and Installing

• Fuel Pump, Checking => [ Fuel Pump, Checking ] Fuel Pump, Checking

• Fuel Level Sensor (G), removing and installing => [ Fuel Level Sensor, Removing and Installing ] Fuel Level Sensor, Removing and Installing

• Clean strainer if soiled

17 Blind rivets

18 Protective plate

• For fuel filler tube

19 Suction Jet Pump

20 Flange with fuel filter

• With pressure relief valve 6 bar

• Removing and installing => [ Fuel Delivery Unit, Removing and Installing ] Fuel Delivery Unit, Removing and Installing

21 Locking ring, 110 Nm

• Ensure seated tightly

• use wrench (T10202) for removal and installation
