Comfort System Central Control Module (J393)

Depending on equipment, the following control modules are integrated in the Comfort System Central Control Module:

Anti-Theft Immobilizer Control Module (J362) or Access/Start Control Module (J518)

Tire Pressure Monitoring Control Module (J502)

General Description:

Depending on equipment, Comfort System Central Control Module performs the following tasks in the vehicle:

Controls central locking system

Actuates rear door control modules

Actuates rear lid unlock

Actuates tank flap release

Actuates anti-theft alarm system, additional information, refer to => [ Anti-Theft Alarm System ] Anti-Theft Alarm System.

Actuates immobilizer, additional information, refer to => [ Anti-Theft Immobilizer ] Anti-Theft Immobilizer.

Actuates access/start authorization system, additional information, refer to => [ Access/Start Authorization ] Access/Start Authorization.

Actuates tire pressure monitoring system.

If Comfort System Central Control Module is to be replaced, the work procedure => [ Comfort System Central Control Module, Replace and Coding ] Programming and Relearning to read out the codes stored in the module must always be performed.

After replacing Comfort System Central Control Module, other functions of Comfort System Central Control Module such as Anti-theft Immobilizer, Anti-theft Alarm System, access and start authorization, tire pressure monitoring and central locking system key must also be adapted, depending on vehicle equipment.

In this case, start by adapting the Anti-theft Immobilizer, refer to => [ Anti-Theft Immobilizer Control Module, Adapting ] Anti-Theft Immobilizer Control Module (J362), Adapting and then the other equipment-dependent functions of Comfort System Central Control Module in any order.

The following comfort system functions can be adapted after connecting the vehicle tester, selecting "Guided Fault Finding", pressing the "Go to" button, pressing the "Function/component selection " button and selecting the menu items "Body", " Body Repair Work", "01 - On Board Diagnostic (OBD) capable systems ", "Comfort system" and "Functions - comfort system central control module":

Factory mode, deactivating.

Adapt Single door opening

Adapt Automatic locking

Adapt Automatic unlocking when ignition key is removed

Adapting Acknowledgment for unlocking via access/start authorization

Adapt Acknowledgment for unlocking via radio remote control

Adapt Acknowledgment for unlocking via key switch

Adapting Acknowledgment for locking via access/start authorization

Adapt Acknowledgment for locking via radio remote control

Adapt Acknowledgment for locking via key switch

Adapt Acknowledgment for anti-theft alarm system armed

Adapt Country selection for the intelligent alarm horn

Vehicle Inclination Sensor Sensitivity, Adapting

Adapt Sensitivity of interior monitoring

Adapt Comfort operation via remote control

Adapt Alarm delay when opening driver's door

DTC Recognition and Display:

The Comfort System Central Control Module is equipped with On Board Diagnostics (OBD) which assists troubleshooting.

The "Guided Fault Finding" function is to be used for troubleshooting of one of the systems described.
