2 Suspended mount

• replace if damaged

3 Gasket

• Replace

4 40 Nm

• Replace

• Coat stud bolts on exhaust manifold with hot bolt paste.

• hot bolt paste (G 052 112 A3)

5 Oxygen sensor (G39)

• Bank 1, sensor 1

• 55 Nm

• Thread of new oxygen sensors is coated with hot bolt paste.

• When re-using the previous oxygen sensor, grease only the threads with hot bolt paste; the paste must not get into slots of oxygen sensor body

• hot bolt paste (G 052 112 A3)

6 Front exhaust pipe with catalytic converters

CAUTION!
Danger of damaging the decoupling element.

• Decoupling element must not be bent more than 10°.

• Do not load decoupling element on cable.

• Do not damage wire mesh at decoupling element.

• Protect catalytic converter from shocks and impact stress

• Removing and installing => [ Catalytic Converters with Front Exhaust Pipe, Removing and Installing ] Service and Repair

• Install exhaust system free of stress => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] Exhaust System, Installing

7 Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 2 (G108)

• Bank 1, sensor 2

• 55 Nm

• Thread of new oxygen sensors is coated with hot bolt paste.

• When re-using the previous oxygen sensor, grease only the threads with hot bolt paste; the paste must not get into slots of oxygen sensor body

• hot bolt paste (G 052 112 A3)

8 Oxygen Sensor (O2S) Behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) (G130)

• Bank 1, sensor 3

• 55 Nm

• Thread of new oxygen sensors is coated with hot bolt paste.

• When re-using the previous oxygen sensor, grease only the threads with hot bolt paste; the paste must not get into slots of oxygen sensor body

• hot bolt paste (G 052 112 A3)

9 Retaining loop

• replace if damaged

10 Suspended mount

• replace if damaged

11 Rear muffler

• Original equipment as one unit with center muffler. For repairs, replace each separately.

• Separating exhaust system => [ Center Muffler and Rear Muffler, Separating ] Service and Repair

12 Nut

• 25 Nm

13 Rear clamping sleeve

• For individual replacement of center and rear mufflers

• Installed location => [ Clamping Sleeves ] Clamping Sleeves

• Tighten bolts evenly

14 Center muffler

• Original equipment as one unit with rear muffler. For repairs, replace each separately.

• Separating exhaust system => [ Center Muffler and Rear Muffler, Separating ] Service and Repair

15 Nut

• 25 Nm

16 Front clamping sleeve

• Installed location => [ Clamping Sleeves ] Clamping Sleeves

• Tighten bolts evenly

17 Suspended mount

• For center muffler
