Strut

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque wrench (V.A.G 1331)

• Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051)

Removing

- Remove plenum chamber bulkhead.

- Remove bolt - arrow - in plenum chamber.





- Remove steering column. Refer to => [ Steering Column ] Steering Column.

- Remove bolts - 1 -.





- Remove bolt - 2 - and remove strut - 3 -.

Installing

- Secure strut to body, tighten bolt - arrow - to do this.





- Install the bolt - 2 - and tighten.





- Tighten bolts - 1 - for strut - 3 - to 10 Nm.

- Install steering column. Refer to => [ Installing ] Steering Column.

- Install plenum chamber bulkhead.

- Perform basic setting on the steering angle sensor (G85) using the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051).
