Lower Track


To avoid serious or fatal injury on vehicles equipped with airbags, disable the supplemental restraint system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, airbag, occupant classification system, seat belt tensioner, impact sensor, or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable, then wait two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the supplemental restraint system. Failure to take the proper precautions could result in accidental airbag deployment.

Removing

- Disconnect the negative battery cable.

- Remove the sliding door sill plate.

- Disconnect the sliding door wire harness connector from the bottom of the sliding door (1).






- Remove the wire harness clips (2) from the sliding door and the top of the sliding door lower hinge.

- Pull the locking tab (2) forward to release the rear wire harness chain link clip. Pull the chain link (1) down off of the mounting pin on the sliding door lower hinge.






- Disconnect the side impact sensor electrical connector.

- Remove the wire harness clips.

- Pull the harness out of the body channel and set aside.

- Remove the side impact sensor retaining bolt and remove the sensor from the body channel.

- Remove the power sliding door drive, if equipped with power sliding doors. Refer to => [ Power Sliding Door Drive ] Power Sliding Door Drive.

- Position a floor jack, with a block of wood under the leading edge of the side door to support it.






- Remove the hold open latch striker bolts (4) and remove the hold open latch striker (1).






- Remove the hold open latch nuts (2) and remove the hold open latch from the lower sliding door hinge (3).

- Remove the sliding door lower hinge. Refer to => [ Lower Hinge ] Lower Hinge.

- Remove the sliding door inner seal from the bottom of the door opening.

- Remove the five lower track nuts.

- Carefully remove the lower track from the vehicle.

Installing

- Install the power sliding door drive, if equipped with power sliding doors. Refer to => [ Power Sliding Door Drive ] Power Sliding Door Drive.

- Carefully install the lower track in the vehicle.

- Install the five lower track nuts.

- Install the sliding door inner seal to the bottom of the door opening.

- Install the sliding door lower hinge. Refer to => [ Lower Hinge ] Lower Hinge.

- Install the hold open latch to the lower sliding door hinge (3) and install the hold open latch nuts (2).






- Install the hold open latch striker (1) and install the hold open latch striker bolts (4).

- Install the sensor from the body channel and install the side impact sensor bolt.

- Connect the side impact sensor electrical connector.

- Install the harness into the body channel.

- Connect the sliding door wire harness connector to the bottom of the sliding door (1).






- Install the sliding door sill plate.

- Connect the negative battery cable.
