Seat Back Frame


Disable the airbag system before attempting any component diagnosis or service of the front seats, when equipped with front seat air bags. Disconnect the negative battery cable, then wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to take the proper precautions may result in accidental airbag deployment and possible serious or fatal injury.

Removing






- Remove the seat from the vehicle and place it on a workbench. Refer to => [ Seat ] Seat.

- Remove the seat back cover and cushion (1) from the seat back frame (2). Refer to => [ Seat Back Cover and Cushion ] Seat Back Cover and Cushion.

- Remove the armrest bracket (3) from the seat back frame.

- Remove the lumbar support and handle mechanism (4) from the seat back frame. Refer to => [ Lumbar Support ] Lumbar Support.

Installing






- Install the lumbar support and handle mechanism (4) onto the seat back frame (2). Refer to => [ Lumbar Support ] Lumbar Support.

- Install the armrest bracket (3). Refer to => [ Armrest Bracket ] Armrest Bracket.

- Install the seat back cushion and cover (1). Refer to => [ Seat Back Cover and Cushion ] Seat Back Cover and Cushion.

- Install the seat. Refer to => [ Seat ] Seat.
