Remote Compass Module

Removing






- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Tools and Equipment.

- Remove the instrument panel upper storage tray in order to gain access to the remote compass module (2).

- Disconnect the RCM electrical connector (1).

- Remove the screws (3) securing the RCM (2) to the I/P.

- Remove the RCM (2) from the vehicle.

Installing






- Position the RCM (2) onto the top of the I/P.

- Install the RCM screws (3).

- Connect the electrical connector (1).

- Install the I/P upper storage tray.

- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Tools and Equipment.

- Perform the compass variance adjustment. Refer to => [ Compass and Mini-Trip Computer, Compass Variance Adjustment ] Compass and Mini-Trip Computer, Compass Variance Adjustment.

- Perform the manual compass calibration. Refer to => [ Compass and Mini-Trip Computer, Manual Compass Calibration ] Compass and Mini-Trip Computer, Manual Compass Calibration.

- Verify proper compass operation.
