Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair






Transmission Range Sensor

Removing






- Remove the valve body. Refer to => [ Valve Body ] Valve Body.

- Remove the park rod assembly (2) from the transmission range sensor (1).






- Remove the set screw (1) using an allen wrench (3) at the manual lever (2).






- Remove the roll pin (3) at the TRS (1) using a small punch (2).






- Remove the manual lever (2) from case and inspect the bushing (3).






- Remove the TRS (1and 2) from the case.






- Using a small flat bladed screwdriver (3) Remove the manual lever seal (2) from the case (1).

Installing






- Install a new manual lever oil seal (2) to the case (1) using a appropriate size socket (3).






- Install the manual lever (2) into the case up to the point of the TRS.






- Install the TRS (1and 2) onto the manual lever and fully install the manual lever into the case.






- Install the roll pin (3) to the TRS (1) using a pin punch (2).






- Install the set screw (1) at the manual lever (2) and tighten the screw to 1 Nm (8.8 in lbs).






- Install the park rod assembly (2) to the TRS (1) and place the park rod assembly into the guide assembly.

- Place the park pawl pin into the park pawl tube.

- Connect the electrical connector.

- Install the valve body. Refer to => [ Valve Body ] Valve Body.
