Trailing Arm: Service and Repair






Track Bar

Before proceeding review the warning and cautions for the rear suspension. Refer to => [ Safety Precautions ] Rear Suspension.

Removing

- Raise and support vehicle.

- Position transmission jack or equivalent under center of axle raising it enough to support axle.






- Remove bolt (3) and nut securing track bar (2) to axle (4).

- Remove bolt (1) and nut securing track bar (2) to frame mounted bracket (5).

- Remove track bar.

Installing






- Position track bar in mounting brackets, then install bolt (1) and nut securing track bar (2) to frame mounted bracket (5).

Do not tighten at this time.

- Install bolt (3) and nut securing track bar (2) to axle (4).

Do not tighten at this time.

- Remove jack from under axle.

- Lower vehicle.

- Position vehicle on alignment rack/drive-on lift. Raise lift as necessary to access the rear suspension while keeping vehicle at curb (riding) height.

- Tighten track bar mounting bolt nuts to 81 Nm (60 ft lbs).
