B117D - Rear Left Seat Heater Control Circuit Low
For a complete wiring diagram, refer to.
• When Monitored: With the ignition ON, during the heated seat operation.
• Set Condition: This code is set immediately after the heated seat module detects the control circuit shorted to ground.
Test Step 1 - Test For Intermittent Condition
• Turn the ignition ON.
• With the scan tool, clear all DTCs.
• Operate the heated seat switch in both positions several times.
• Adjust the seat forward and rearward as well as the seat back position while performing this test. This CAN help uncover an intermittent wiring problem with the heating element in the seat.
• With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display B117D - Rear Left Seat Heater Control Circuit Low?
Yes
• Go to Test Step 2 => [ Test Step 2 - Seat Heater Element ]
No
• The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also, inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Vehicles equipped with 2nd row heated seats and the Swivel 'N Go seating System inspect seat contacts and related wiring for damage. Repair as necessary.

Test Step 2 - Seat Heater Element
• Turn the ignition OFF.
• Vehicles equipped with 2nd row heated seating system inspect seat contacts and related wiring for damage. Repair as necessary.
• Disconnect the left 2nd row seat assembly C393 2 way harness connector.
• Check connectors - Clean and repair as necessary.
• Turn the ignition ON.
• With the scan tool, clear all DTCs.
• Operate the heated seat switch in both positions several times.
• With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display B117D - Rear Left Seat Heater Control Circuit Low?
Yes
• Go to Test Step 3 => [ Test Step 3 - Left Rear Heated B+ Driver Circuit Short to Ground ]
No
• Repair/replace the wiring or pigtail/heating element as necessary for a short to ground.
• Perform Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non
- DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior
Test Step 3 - Left Rear Heated B+ Driver Circuit Short to Ground
• Ensure the left 2nd row seat assembly C393 2 way harness connector is still disconnected.
• Disconnect the heated seat module harness connector.
• Check connectors - Clean and repair as necessary.
• Measure the resistance between ground and the left rear seat heater B+ driver circuit at the HSM harness connector.
Is the resistance above 10k ohms?
Yes
• Replace the heated seat module.
• Perform Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non
- DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior
No
• Repair the left rear seat heater B+ driver circuit for a short to ground.
• Perform Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non
