B1470 - Channel 4 Audio Speaker Output Circuit Low






For a complete wiring diagram, refer to.

When Monitored: With the ignition on.

Set Condition: The amplifier detects a shorted to ground condition on the speaker output circuit.






Test Step 1 - Check for an Intermittent Condition

Turn the ignition ON, then OFF, and then ON again.

With the scan tool, check for amplifier DTCs.

Does the scan tool display B1470 - Channel 4 Audio Speaker Output Circuit Low?

Yes

Go to Test Step 2.

No

The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.

Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior

Test Step 2 - Check the RF Door Speaker (+) Circuit for a Short to Ground

Disconnect the amplifier C1 harness connector.

Measure the resistance between ground and the speaker (+) circuit.

Is the resistance less than 10K ohms?

Yes

Repair the short to ground in the speaker (+) circuit.

Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior

No

Go to Test Step 3.

Test Step 3 - Check the RF Door Speaker (-) Circuit for a Short to Ground

Measure the resistance between ground and the speaker (-) circuit.

Is the resistance less than 10K ohms?

Yes

Repair the short to ground in the speaker (-) circuit.

Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior

No

Go to Test Step 4

Test Step 4 - Check the Operation of the RF Door Speaker

Turn the ignition OFF.

Connect and install the speaker.

Measure the resistance of the speaker circuit between the amplifier C1 harness connector and ground.

Is the resistance less than 10K ohms?

Yes

Replace the speaker.

No

Replace the amplifier.

Perform the Body Verification Test. Refer to => Non-DTC Based Diagnostics. Body Interior
