Seat Horizontal Motor Control Circuit Performance
B1D7B - Seat Horizontal Motor Control Circuit Performance
For a complete wiring diagram, refer to.
• When Monitored: Whenever the seat motor is activated.
• Set Condition: If the memory seat module does not detect the rotation of the seat motor this DTC will set.
Test Step 1 - Check For Related Diagnostic Trouble Codes
• Turn the ignition ON.
• With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display any seat position sensor DTCs?
Yes
• Diagnose and repair the other DTCs first. Refer to => Non - DTC Based Diagnostics.
No
• Go to Test Step 2 => [ Test Step 2 - Test for Intermittent Condition ]
Test Step 2 - Test for Intermittent Condition
• Turn the ignition ON.
• With the scan tool, erase all DTCs.
• Move the driver seat switch in the horizontal forward and rearward position three times.
• With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC?
Yes
• Go to Test Step 3 => [ Test Step 3 - Check the Driver Seat Horizontal Position Sense Circuit
Voltage ]
No
• The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also, inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Repair as necessary.
• Perform Power Seat System Verification Test. Refer to => Non - DTC Based Diagnostics. Power Seat System Verification Test
Test Step 3 - Check the Driver Seat Horizontal Position Sense Circuit Voltage
• Turn the ignition OFF.
• Disconnect the driver horizontal seat adjuster motor harness connector.
• Turn the ignition ON.
• Measure the voltage between the driver seat horizontal position sense circuit and the driver seat horizontal sensor ground circuit at the driver horizontal seat adjuster motor harness connector.
Is the voltage above 10.0 volts?
Yes
• Go to Test Step 4 => [ Test Step 4 - Check the Driver Seat Horizontal Forward/Rearward Driver
Circuit Voltage ]
No
• Go to Test Step 5 => [ Test Step 5 - Check the Driver Seat Horizontal Position Sense Circuit
for an Open ]
Test Step 4 - Check the Driver Seat Horizontal Forward/Rearward Driver Circuit Voltage
• Using a 12 volt test light connect one lead to the driver seat horizontal forward driver circuit and the other lead to driver seat horizontal rearward driver circuit at the driver horizontal seat adjuster motor harness connector.
• Move the driver seat switch in the horizontal forward and rearward position.
Does the test light illuminate with the seat switch engaged in both positions?
Yes
• Replace the track/horizontal motor assembly.
