Remote Radio Switch
Remote Radio Switch
Disable the airbag system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, seat belt tensioner, side airbag, or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable, then wait two minutes for the proper precautions could result in accidental airbag deployment and possible personal injury.
- Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
- Remove the remote radio switches from the steering wheel.
- Use an ohmmeter to check the switch resistance as shown in the table.
• The right remote radio switch back is white in color. The left switch back is black in color. The right/left remote radio switch orientation is with the steering wheel installed, and driver in drivers seat.
- If not OK, replace the faulty switch.
- If the switch resistance checks OK, check for continuity between the ground circuit cavity of the switch wire harness connector and a good ground. There should be continuity. If not OK, repair the open circuit as required.
