Seat Leg Retracting Cable

Removing






- Remove the third row seat from vehicle and place it on a workbench upside down in the folded position.

- Rotate the front inboard leg down to the stow position.

- Using a flat bladed tool (1), remove the cover (2) from the seat leg.






- Remove the cable end clip (2) from the front leg (1) by prying up on the base of the clip with a screwdriver or other flat bladed tool (3).






- Remove the pulley (1) located at the front of the seat.






- Remove cable eyelet from the spring located on the rear leg at the back of the seat and remove the spring.






- Using a screwdriver or other flat bladed tool (2), remove the retainer clip that secures the cable housing (1) to the bracket located near the base of the rear leg (3) of the seat.






- Remove the tie strap (1) that secures the cable housing to the seat and remove the cable out from under the seat (2).

Installing






- Feed the cable (2) through the bracket located near the base of the rear leg. Be sure the eyelet (2) is towards the rear of seat.

- Feed the cable through the rear foot. The cable must run underneath the pivot shaft (3) at the base, and route up through the rear foot. Leave slack in the cable at this time.






- Attach the spring (2) to the rear leg (3).

- Attach the cable (1) to the spring.






- Install the pulley (1) onto the bracket.

• Spray white lithium grease on the pulley and cable where they contact each other.

- Position the cable into the groove on the pulley.






- Position the cable to the front leg (1) and install the cable end clip (2).






- Position the cable housing (1) onto the bracket located near the base of the rear leg (3) and install the retaining clip using a screwdriver or other flat bladed tool (2).






- Position the cable to the bottom of the seat and install a plastic retaining strap (1).






- Inspect the front leg covers for an embossed DO NOT LIFT symbol (1). If the symbol is not present, replace the front leg covers.






- Hold front leg at approximately 45 degree angle.

- Slide the cover onto each leg and apply force until cover snaps into place.

- Install the seat.
