Left Temperature Door Motor (V158)
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Vehicle Diagnostic Tester
• Shorten Screw (N 103 254 01) approximately 2 mm
Removing
- Turn off all electric consumers.
- Switch off the ignition.
- Remove the key.
- Remove the footwell trim.
- Remove the left footwell vent. Refer to => [ Left Footwell Vent ] Left Footwell Vent.
- Remove the data bus on board diagnostic interface (J533).
- Remove brake pedal crash brace.
- Remove the bolts - 4 - (9 Nm).
• Do not loosen the nuts - 1 - and - 2 -.
• Do not remove the bracket - 3 -.
- Push the mount - 1 - in the direction of the brake pedal - arrow - and secure it there with binding components (i.e. with cable ties).
- Mark the connector - C - for the motor (danger of confusing it with other connectors that may look the same).
- Disconnect the connector - C - from the left temperature door motor.
- Remove the cover - A -.
- Remove bolts - D - (1.4 Nm) and remove left temperature door motor - B -.
- Disconnect the lever - E - from the connecting rod - F -.
Installing
• Optimized motors are marked with an "X".
Use a screw (N 103 254 01) that has been shortened approximately 2 mm to make it easier to install.
- Remove the mount from the old left temperature door motor using a diagonal cutter - 1 -.
- Attach the new left temperature door motor that is marked with an "X" to the mount - 3 - using the shortened raised head screw - 2 - and the removed mount - 1 -.
• After installing, function of left temperature door must be checked.
• Initiate "Basic Setting" function with Vehicle Diagnostic Tester. Refer to => [ Climatronic A/C System with Automatic Controls, Checking and Adjusting Components ] Climatronic A/C System with Automatic Controls, Checking and Adjusting Components.
- Additional installation is in reverse order of removal.
