Input Shaft Seal

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Pulling Hook (T20143/1)

• Thrust Piece (T10233)

• Sealing grease (G 052 128 A1)

- Remove the transmission. Refer to => [ Transmission, Removing ] Transmission, Removing

- Remove the clutch slave cylinder with release bearing. Refer to => [ Clutch Release Mechanism Overview ] Clutch Release Mechanism Overview.

- Pry out the input shaft seal using the pulling hook (T20143/1).






• Be careful not to damage the contact surface for the shaft seal on the input shaft.

- Fill the space between the sealing and dust lips - arrow - half way with sealing grease for seal (G 052 128 A1).






- Lightly coat the outer circumference of the seal with gear oil.

- Drive in the seal using the thrust piece (T10233) until it is flush.






- Install the clutch slave cylinder with release bearing. Refer to => [ Clutch Release Mechanism Overview ] Clutch Release Mechanism Overview.

- Install the transmission. Refer to => [ Transmission, Installing ] Transmission, Installing.
