Start System Button (E378)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Trim Removal Wedge (VAS 3409)

• When removing and installing components in a visible area (switches, covers, trim, etc.), mask off the areas at which a prying tool ( (VAS 3409) , screwdriver) will be positioned, using commercially available adhesive tape.

Removing

- Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers.

- Remove the upper section of the center console.

- Release both tabs - arrows - and press the start system button - 1 - outward through the cover.






- Release and disconnect the connector - 1 - and remove the start system button - 2 -.






Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:

• When installing the start system button, make sure it engages securely in the center console.
