Air Bag Control Module: Service and Repair

Follow all Safety Precautions when working on an airbag. Refer to => [ Airbags Safety Precautions ] Airbags Safety Precautions

Removing

- Disconnect the battery.

- Remove the footwell trim. Refer to => [ Footwell Trim ] Footwell Trim

• For the sake of illustration, center console is not depicted in the illustrations.

- Remove the two nuts - 1 - (2 Nm)






- Remove the left bracket - 2 -, remove the right bracket - 3 -.

- Open the connector lock mechanism and pull it off the control module.

- Remove the nuts - 1 - and - 2 - (9 Nm).






- Remove the control module - 3 - from the vehicle.

Installation

- Install in reverse order of removal.

- Turn on the ignition.


Make sure that no persons are in the vehicle.

- Connect the battery.

- If the control unit was replaced, it must be coded. Adapting components (coding). Refer to => [ Airbag Components, Adapting ] Programming and Relearning
