Shock Absorber







Shock Absorber

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque wrench (V.A.G 1332)

Adaptive chassis DCC shock absorber, AWD, removing and installing, refer to => [ Rear Shock Absorber, AWD ] Rear Shock Absorber, AWD.

Removing

- Remove the wheel.

- Remove the wheel housing liner.

- Remove coil spring. Refer to => [ Coil Spring ] Coil Spring.

- Remove the bolts - arrows -.






- Remove bolt - arrow -.






- Remove shock absorber.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

The bolted connections of the shock absorber to the wheel bearing housing must only be fastened when the dimension "a" is achieved! Refer to => [ Measure dimension. ] Rear Suspension, Lifting to Curb Weight Position

- Insert shock absorber and tighten bolts - arrows -.






- Tighten the bolt - arrow -.






- Install coil spring. Refer to => [ Installing ] Coil Spring.

- Install wheel housing liner.

- Install the wheel and tighten the wheel bolts. Refer to => [ Tightening Specification for Mounting Wheels ] [1][2]Specifications.
