Removing
The battery disconnect relay is located in the footwell, in front of the driver seat.
The battery disconnect relay is fastened to the ground connection for the battery negative terminal, in front of the driver seat.
• The battery under the driver seat is equipped with a battery isolation system. Observe safety measures when working on battery isolation system..
- Switch off ignition and all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.
If the trim under the driver seat has not yet been removed:
- Remove trim under driver's seat in order to disconnect battery.
- Disconnect connection - A - from the relay cable.
- Pull foam covering - A - over the connection of the relay cable.
- Secure the foam covering with adhesive tape.
- Disconnect the ground (GND) cable - 2 - from the battery disconnect relay - 1 -.
- Unfasten the battery disconnect relay retainer from the ground (GND) connection - B -.
- Connect and fasten ground (GND) connection - A - to 20 Nm.
• Once the ground (GND) cable for the battery is reconnected, refer to=> Electrical Equipment 27 Removal and Installation.
- Route the connector with relay cable, to the indicated point - arrows -.
- Reinstall the trim under the driver seat.
Observe the work steps after connecting the battery. Refer to=> Electrical Equipment 27 Description and Operation.
- Perform a vehicle system test. Refer to=> [ Vehicle System Test, Performing ] Procedures.
